I purchased a Creative Live card on ebay. It was offered as OEM. Along with the card I recieved a "Windows 95/98/NT4.0 Installation CD. If anyone who has Creative live card would please let me know if they received anything else with thiers I would greatly appreciate if you would let me know what I didn't get. Thanks in advance http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

The X-Gamer version comes with some games
and the MP3+ comes with some audio apps.

OEM usually means you get just that item. OEM products are the same as retail, but sold in bulk to distributers, and thats all they get. If you got more than the sound card, you did good...except, you will need the drivers, which should be on the cd that came with it.

OEM also means that the warranty is fuzzy and sometimes non-existant.
If the manufactorer won't accept it, then you're probaboy stuck with it.

Thanks for your replies. The reason I'm asking I don't have any sound. My cd rom is plugged into the sound card, but I don't hear anything. Any suggestions? Grateful:-)

I got two CD's with my Live Value. I got the same one as you, plus one for 2000/ME.
If you need the one for 2000/ME I would be happy to send it to you. Not sure what OS you are running.

Go to Control Panel, System, then Device Manager, see if there is any ! or X beside any devices in Sound, Video, Game Controllers. If so, remove them. If your sound was working before, then not now. The driver information and drivers are still on your PC. In C:\Windows the INF and System folder contains all your driver information.
Plus, go to Multimedia in Control Panel
Under Playback and Recording. Look and see if it is blank, if so, use the drop box to pick your SB live.

Of course make sure your sound is not just muted or the volume is not turned down.
