Hi,

Imagine the following scenario:

I make a web page using some cool but not wide spread font, how can I make sure that the people who view my page also get to see the font that I have used ?.

Is this possible ?.

And if yes, could someone please explain to me how I could do this ?.

Im using FP2000 to make the web page.

Thanks very much,
cm.

The cheap way to do it would be to put the font up on your page so it can be downloaded. Other than that check your HTML proggie's help file for "embeded fonts". Sorry I can't be more help

The only sure-fire way that I am aware of (without downloads) is to use Flash 5 and embed the font.

You may be familiar with having to embed fonts in MS Office documents... where using a custom-type font requires special save options for the embed.

For the web, I believe Flash to be the only way as of now...

Hey people i have come across something quite interesting, its available at MS, its called WEFT3 (http://www.microsoft.com/typography/web/embedding/weft3/default.htm?fname=%20&fsize=) and allows web designers to embed font objects in their pages, i shall try it out and tell you how it went.

tried it with Netscape Communicator 4.75 and Netscape 6.01. Both render regular font, not Capn.Podd

it didnt work on ie 4 either.

even if you embedded the font, the user's browser settings wont allow the download and view of the font, by default, which is practically everybody. you better off using gifs, jpeg, or flash to have your fonts viewed.

Thats a shame, would have been nice.
Unfortunately i dont know how to use Flash.

I guess ill stick to GIF's then,

Very Thankful to all,
