Anybody out there know Mac OS 9.2?

Okay I have some .zip and .sit files I'd like to open. My sister suggested MacZip, so I downloaded it but it's a .sit. So I downloaded StuffIt Expander including DropStuff but it won't install. Here's the messages I get:

When I try to install StuffIt (it's in a .sit file): "Could not find the application program that created the document...."

When I try to 2-click a .sit or a .zip file: "The document could not be opened because the application "DropStuff" could not be found" (Could not find a translation extension with appropriate translators).

Any ideas?

It's all fixed now. I found a version of the installer in a different format - .hqx - and I'm all set to go. Thanks anyway.

There is a simple reason why every Mac program on the net is compressed.

It's because you cannot download a Mac executable file. I don't know why, but you just can't.

On Windows, you can download EXE files no problem.

I guess the compressed installer is for users upgrading their already installed earlier versions. Thank goodness for finding that hqx installer that worked when I double-clicked it! (just like an exe ;) :p ) Thanks anyways. Cheers and Happy New Year.
