I have a Dell PowerEdge 2300 w/ three 4.0 GB SCSI drives installed. I have 8GB of available storage with a RAID 5 configuration using a Mylex DAC960P PCI RAID Card. Due to the fact that the firmware for my Mylex card is 2.xx, I can only utilize all of the 8GB by making the boot partition no larger than 2GB and then the balance will be the second partition(MS KB Article #Q137474).
With the Mylex utility, I've low-level formatted my 3 drives, defined and arranged my "pack" of drives. I then established 2 system drives: one at 2GB and the other at 6GB. I then initialized both drives. I'm now ready to install NT 4.0 Server. When I perform the setup it displays both a C: and D: partition with the appropriate sizes. My question is, "Do I want to format both drives during the setup or just C:?" If the latter, can I format the D: partition from Windows?
Thanks,
Barry:confused:
