hello, a couple months ago i bought a diamond 9 maxtor 60gb harddrive. lately, it has been making some wierd noises, its a squeek here and there. sounds like there is a cricket in my computer. seems to be random, and i think its when its on for a little bit(warm). what do u guys think? thanx

backup the data and be prepared to rma it. while it may be randam noise it could be a sign of failure.

Make sure it is the harddrive and not a fan or other drive. You can pull the cover and listen around with a piece of plastic tubing when the sound happens again. If it is the harddrive then ditto the above post.
