I have an app. named "cisvc.exe" that runs in my running processes. I have XP Pro. It causes lockups and sluggishness.It takes 98-99% of the CPU usage.It will eventually turn off.If I end the process the system runs fine. I have deleted the program and the system runs fine but, it comes back after reboot. I believe it started after I installed Office XP ( I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Any help appreciated. <J>

That file looks like it is windows indexing service from the google search I dd. You need to kill some background services that are running.

www.blkviper.com has a good list of services you can kill and how to do it.
