I just this minute saw a report on the tube from Sean Alexander, M$'s digital media director, he said the media player in the beta version of xp is just a test, when the regular version comes public it will have a media player plug-in for ripping high quality mp3's.

Dude...don't ever actually believe anything you see at the register...it's all a bogus hype site...they make jokes look real just to screw with people.

It seems M$'s frenzy over copyright gives a Media player in WinXP that downsamples MP3's so people are forced away from the format that doesn't support copyright. Thankfully M$ gives away its wma format with full support and quality. Now that's nice, thans M$ for protecting us!!!

I'm thinking that that, plus the registration **** going on is gonna encourage folks to stay with Win2k, ME, or 98SE...

If you see now reason to upgrade, why should you? I recently switched from 98SE to Win2k Pro, and I love it. NO more BSOD errors! I love Win2k's memory management as well.
