Please elaborate. Tell us your problem.

If you turn off the firewall in the properties for TCP/IP for the connection, it's off.

i am trying like hell to host a game. i have 5 computers networked and all can host games but mines. one other computer has winxp and the other ones has win2000 all can host games except mines.

i have three comp running directly thru the router and two other directly thru the router by way of a hub i put the comp in the dmz zone and tried that didin't worked tried opening the ports didn't worked ot seems like either xp firewall is still on or there is something blocking something. i have a

dl604 updated latest firmware

what could it be

Do you have McAfee VirusScan running on this PC?

If all the computers that want to play are on the inside of the router, DMZ is not needed. DMZ host forwards ALL ports from your outside IP (internet) to the one inside (local) computer.

The router's inside ports act as a Switch or hub, all PC's on the inside can communicate with each other.

Troubleshooting

Get on the computer that cannot host a game I'm assuming it is the Win XP one.

Go to a command prompt Start -> Run -> type CMD

then type ipconfig to get the windows XP computers ip address.

Go to the computers that cannot connect

Go to a command prompt Start -> Run -> type CMD

now type PING "insert XP's IP address"

this will tell you if it is communicating with the XP PC

Post results....

McAffee VirusScan has a built-in firewall. You have to disable it in the options. I can't remember exactly how. All I know is that if you click Next, Next, Next during setup, it's installed.

i don't have the firewall only the antivirus and norton works i just unistall it and strip it reference from the registry so now it must be the routers firewall .
