I am having several problems with my new Gateway.Have been able to solve some of them but decided to do some research. I found a conflict in my device manager. I noticed a similiar message already on this site but wanted to make sure it would work for my system too. I have Windows ME, amd k-6/500Mhz, 64MB,7.5G. My conflict is:
IO Read data port for ISA Plug and Play enumerator
in the conflicting divice list are these
Input/Output Rrange 0374-0377
Secondary IDE Controller(dual fifo)
Input/Output Range 037-0377
VIA Bus master PCI IDE controller.
I have a scanner hooked up and recently tried to hook up a digital camera but it was incompatible and i think that has messed up things. I have also been trying to install a game but it keeps freezing when i put the disk in the drive. Hoping this will do positive things. Thanks for any help you can provide.

You have a winmodem and it is conflicting with your ide drive I/O address on the secondary channel. Go into the safe mode and remove the modem. Then open the case and physicaly remove. then go to you bios setup at the boot screen and reset the pnp in your bios. boot, then see if the conflict goes away. If it does, then physically reinstall the modem and boot and let windows assign it a free I/O address, and then if that works, then go from there.
