i have just installed a new cdrw (ide) and it was working fine for 2 weeks.Now i have lost my dvd & my cdrw,have conflicts on both primary & secondary ide controlers & i seem to be running in ms-dos mode.This is the second time this has happened.
Can anyone help.

Try the CD-RW as master on the secondary IDE header, and the CDR as a slave on the same header. Its not good to run a CD Rom drive as a slave to a hard drive anyway (if thats your setup). A CD drive running as a slave to a hard drive, will slow down the access time of the hard drive.

Other possibles are bios setup.
