I posted this in the mobo section because it seems to be only an issue w/ this mobo.I put the same vid card in another machine-runs fine.I then put a gf2 gts vid card in the gigbyte & it runs fine,no chop.I tried latest video card driver-still the same.I get a good 3d mark 2k1 benchmark score but the donut thing is choppy & spacifically when I play descent 3(the most graphic intensive game I ever played)It is choppy running D3D.Does anybody have a radeon 8500 LE running on a GR-7VRXP on win XP?What drivers are you using?:(

Get the newest bios and motherboard drivers.

"donut thing" shows DOT3 bump mapping. Don't know why this is the only thing slow on your setup  , but you'll never know with ATI
Anyway, try getting latest Catalyst drivers for you videocard here (http://www.savagenews.com/?show=2749). And installing DirectX 9, maybe ;)

Mobo BIOS upgrade might also help ...

I meant to say bios for your graphics card AND your mobo.

I had it w/ this f#$& vid card!I swapped over to my MSI mobo-works in there ok.Still too buggy.I ordered a gf3 ti200 for my gigybyte for $69.That will play anything I need.:p
