Is there a way to make a dvd work ( play movies ) across the network and actually work. I shared my dvd drive and the other computers on my network can see it but it will not play movies.

Midknyte 12-21-2002, 03:53 PM if anything, you would need to install the dvd player software and then map a drive to the shared dvd drive. but don't bother. the remote systems wouldn't be able to play the dvd smoothly. omendata 12-21-2002, 04:18 PM Yep DVD sucks more info than a conventional cd ratewise so it would be a pretty choppy display - all depends on your network - if your running fibre oc3 or gigabit you might get away with it - else 10/100mbps just doesnt cut the mustard. suttonmf 12-21-2002, 08:00 PM Then I guess I will be getting another DVD player for the holidays. Thanks for the replys, enjoy your holidays....... SysOpt.com
