Looking for a Duron 800 chip now and found some good prices then got a little spooked by the description. Probably just a little paranoid but to double check I thought I'd throw it out here. Found an 800 Duron OEM CPU for 56 bucks, same site a retail version is 112 with box and fan and 3 year warranty. The processor itself is the same thing right? Throw away the box, warranty and fan and you have the OEM processor right? Just double checking because on another site found a Duron with a 64 K cache and their supposed to have a 200 K cache right? Thanks for any help

"Throw away the box, warranty and fan and you have the OEM processor right?"
Correct.
The Duron has 64KB of L2 cache. The Thunderbird (Socket A Athlon) has 256KB L2. If they said something about the Duron having around 200KB of cache, that's the TOTAL of the L1 and L2; it actually has 192KB total cache on the die.

No difference except you usually get a crappy fan and a warranty that will be voided the minute you ramp that baby up to 900MHz...
There is no overclocking differences reported thusfar on any cpu either.
