O.k., I've been searching around the web for all of about...eh...4 hours trying to decide on a nice Dual Athlon MP board. I just bought a pair of MP 2200s for a STEAL and now I need a board to put them into. I've found a couple that look good so here's what I'm looking for and have been looking at :) if you have any suggestions let me know:

MSI K7D Master (the board looks sweeet!)
Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW+

Asus A7M226-DL

In about that order as well, but the Gigabyte is looking better (it has onboard raid) , but that MSI just looks so freakin cool! Onboard Raid is good but not totally necessary as I have a controller. Onboard sound = good as is onboard lan :)

So if you're running one of these boards please post some opinions or things you have heard, friends that have had probs, etc...anything is appreciated! Also I have heard something about Soyo having a Dual MP board but can't find a thing! Anyone have a link or can confirm/disprove this rumor :)

And yes, I'm not even considering a Tyan...you may curse me and what not ... it won't hurt my feelings.

Thanks In Advance!

Actually I was gonna suggest Tyan. I know little about Tyan today...but 5 to 8 years ago, that was the board to get...they had a good rep back then, and I have used (and still using, after a repair...a Tyan S1598, a SS7 board. does a great job.

I'd also say Tyan - Tiger MPX. It has a couple of 64-bit PCI slots, kinda neat. Howcome they're ruled out for you?

Mainly ruled out Tyan just b/c of some bad experiences in the past. I know they were first to the plate with the Dual MP boards, and I'm sure they offer a good amount of features. Might have to reconsider especially since that's all that I can find here in Austin :( And I don't want to wait to get it off the internet.

The MPX board is actually the one Tyan that I looked at. But for the price it really seems to lack some of the features that the other boards have...still considering it though.
