kinda a newb at overclocking, I know how to do cpu overclocking, just not memory. I just got this setup:

2.4b
albatron px845pe pro
256 mb true samsung pc2700-be pissed if it turns out generic(havent gotten it yet, everything else is done tho)
gainward gs ti4200

I hope to overclock the p4 to about 2.7-whatever i can.
the memory, not sure. How do i know when my timings and cas are too low? ive heard that i shldnt even adjust cas. i think its at 2.5? and the memory voltages- how do i know when to increase them? the dividers, 1:1, 3:4, ect. wich one should i try for? How do i know when to bring all the timings and stuff down? sorry about all the questions.
1 more: the core on the gpu. i know ull get artifacts w/ the memory at too much speed, but how do you tell if the core is too high?

whew

thanks alot 4 ur time
until then

If you adjust the FSB in the BIOS to a higher setting, it will OC the memory.

You might also check your CMOS/BIOS setup. My ECS P6VXAT mb has an Award Bios and in the Advanced Chipset Features page there is a setting for "DRAM Clock". The default is Host Clock-which I presume is the same as the FSB setting or 100 in my case since I have a Celeron 1.2gb installed. An alternate choice is Host Clock+33, which I think means I could set the memory in my system to run at 133. Haven't tried it yet, but I actually have PC133 SDRAM in my system so I'm getting up the nerve to try it.
