Is it possible to save a streaming realplayer movie with a .ram extension (I only have Realplayer Basic)? If so, how do I do it?

Many thanks,
Emil

I have an "ordinary" Streambox VCR, can I modify that is some way, or where do I get a modified version?

Regards,
Emil

I have found the modified StreamBox VCR and I can now download the .ram file. Thanks for the help, it guided me in the right direction.

I don't think it is. Because ram files are essentially wrapper files that tell Realplayer where to fetch the actual file. So, even if you save the ram file, you'll have to connect to the server each time you want to play it. You can try this by opening up a text editor and then typing up the location of each mp3 file you want it to look for. Then save that in plain text with a unique filename ending with ram extension. Now open up Realplayer and load up that file and Voila!

But then there are the other ram files that are the files themselves that don't require any additional files.

Realplayer Plus can save most uncopyrighted realmedia files, streaming or HTTP static. Otherwise, you will probably need a "modified" copy of StreamBox VCR.
