I've got a Ability M573 with a p 166 in it
I've also got a Cyrix MII 233gp chip
Can I put the Cyrix chip onto the Mb
If so what steps do I take to switch
I'm just learning :confused:

cHECK with the Mobo Manual first to see if the Voltage is supported
and the Clock Ratios Jumpers settings
then Verify with the CPU manual
to see what settings and Voltage it needs

Be sure the chips run in the same type of socket, they wont work otherwise. And be careful when you handle them. If you break off one of the little pins on the bottom, it wont work.

I'm think the Bios supports an MII. this board has the right voltages, bus, and multiplier.

I changed the cpu core voltage jumpers to 2.pV
, and tryed multible clock speed and clock multiplier setting
when I turn it on I get nothing :confused:

If nothing happens, something is wrong. Reset the CMOS and redo the settings.
