I put together a system using the Asus A7V133C Rev 1.05 mb, today it will not start. In looking at the mb I saw that there are 2 voltage regulator chips labeled "05N03L" that are mounted on this auxiliary board called SK7VRM, and that one is burned at the solder joint and it is internally shorted.
Has anybody had the experience in replacing this burned out regulator and were to get one?
I believe that when the CPU fan failed late night, that coolling air that flows out of the heatsink and hits this part naturally stopped and it overheated. I am now going to install chassis fans that will blow on this area on all the other systems that I have built using these A7V family of boards.
Be advised!:(

I've heard of similar fan shutdowns with this family of boards. One of the connectors is NOT suitable for the CPU fan.. COP is disabled... I think it's toast. Definitely a problem if the multiplier is manually altered.

What can happen (http://www.lostcircuits.com/cpu/fxp_2200/1.shtml)

Thanks for the link to that article. Quite interesting. Fortunately the CPU did not fry when the fan died. I had set the Smart cooling and it worked. Cost a fan and board to repair.
