I'm just interested to find out what people have been able to get this chip running at. I'm using a Volcano7+ HSF and have a well ventilated case.
All I want are how much ppl have overclocked this chip reliably using similar cooling. I don't need any silly comments about different HSFs/watercooling and stuff like that. Just the speeds :)

Why not check the overclocking databases?

XP1700+ Palomino or TBredA?

If TBred-A, how's 175x11.0=1925 and 200x9.5=1900, 1.75vcore. AIUGA stepping, 0241MPM

I have the xp1700 t-bred a, and I can't seem to adjust the multiplier. I can adj. the fsb. The board is an asus a7v266-e. Any Ideas? I checked and made sure all switches were set to jumper free.

Maybe it's a KT266a issue? I'm only guessing. The boards that I've used with my XP1800+ TBredA are both KT333 (EPoX 8K3A+ and 8k5A2+), and I had no issues with the multipliers (up to and including 12.5) unlocked as received from AMD. Does your board recognize the cpu at POST as an XP1700+, and does it set vcore at 1.50 (XP1700+ TBredA default vcore) when you are at default settings? Have you flashed to latest BIOS?

It posts as an xp1700 with default settings. I have also upgraded to the latest bios revision. Do I have to connect the last L3 bridge?

The L3 is not cut in the 1700+

I have my 1700+ (T-Bred A) @ 1900MHz - 12.5x 152MHz (433MHz OC) with 1.775 Vcore.
runs cooler than my Palomino 1700+ @ 1600MHz
Cooling with Volcano 7+ and AS3... 5x 80mm fans, 1x 92mm fan. (well ventilated)
using PC133 SDRAM it is stable as a rock in a cement slab.
mobo - KT7A-RAID:t :t

btw: my overclock is limited by my chipset, nothing else.... my HDD controller screws up at anything around 153-155... sometimes they work, sometimes they dont... so i only go to 152 just to be safe:t
