Help....have a Paperport One Touch scanner which has been working fine. Uninstalled several programs from my PC and suddenly scanner is gone. Tried to reload paperport install from CD get the following Message:
Shell21.DLL file is linked to missing export SHLWAPI.DLL:SHregGetUSValueA.
WHATS WORSE is now I can't INSTALL any program - like uninstaller, etc. same message.....
I have searched hi and low for this file and it does not exist. Have tried to uninstall Paperport but get this same message so I'm caught with no way to re-install my scanner since Paperport won't install over an existing Paperport program.....
PS..I searched my registries for the missing export and cannot find it....tried to add hardware through control panel..no go....restored files that I deleted from backups I made over a month ago when there were no problems...no go either...even reloaded Windows 98 to see if that would help...
can anyone help...visioneer is no help at all.....thanks so much....Michelle
