I can't get the fan to run over 3800 rpms. The sensor on this thing sucks. I went back to my old volcano6Cu+ 7200rpm and took the fan off the volcano 7 . I then used the volcano7's fan as a smart fan on the rear of my case. The fan at 3800 rpms out runs my old delta 2700 rpm case fan , but man it sucks. I heard great things about the volcano7. I should have shelled out more money for the volcano7+ so I could manually turn up the fan. Did anyone else have this trouble. I can't believe my 6 dollar cooler kills the volcano7 in performance. Ps beats my dragon orb 3 7200 rpm too. Both now are decorations on my computer desk, long live the (lear jet )volcano6cu+. Ha Ha can't believe I payed for that piece of **** volcano7.

I cut off the sensor rewired fan but man this sounds like an f-16. It works great however

If you really want to fix it, you could put the sensor on the bottom of the heatsink near the core itself, instead of at the top on the fan.

I was thinking of putting it down inside the heat sink but i thought it might melt. The cord is long enough to lay it down in the heatsink.

It won't melt. If you touch the heatsink while the 'puter is running you'll notice it's only warm to the touch. The mod has been done before anyways.
