Because I see the MX Cards on e-bay selling for like $20 yet the TI Cards sell for over $100

The gf4 mx is a turbo charged gf2mx which were also **** for their time. In short the gf4mx is not a real gf4, its pretty pants if you ijntned doing serious gaming, the gf4ti's hoiwever - are pretty darn good :D

A geforce4 mx is really a super-charged geforce2 mx. It has no support for DirectX 8 features, pixel and vertex shading. The geforce4 TI series has complete support for these features. Both are DirectX 8 compliant cards, but only the TI (among the 2) has support for the features.

Gf4MX

2 pipelines and a fixed function hardware T&L engine. Essentially Gf2 era technology. Imagine a Gf2MX souped up to perform like a Gf2 Ultra.

Gf4Ti

4 pipelines and vertex and pixel shaders. Essentially Gf3 era technology.

The Gf4MX can run as many games as the Gf4Ti but their are graphics features the MX does not support. For example, when playing Neverwinter nights you cannot turn on "shiny water" when using a Gf4MX but you can with a Gf4Ti.

There are other games that have features the Gf3 and Gf4Ti support and the Gf2 and Gf4MX do not.

If the price difference is such a biggie look for a ti4200 from inno 3d - rather cheap cards and rather good too :D
