I've spent countless hours trying to resolve these problems without any luck and could really use some help.

Lately, my upload speeds have been extremely poor, for example, 20 minutes to upload - ftp - an 800 KB file to my business server took over 20 minutes. All of the other attempts to transfer the file resulted in failure.

Thinking I would see where there might be a bottleneck in the system, I tried to run a tracert - all requests timed out except for the first hop
to the router itself. When I take the router out of the loop, everything times out. When trying to ping, I get request timed out and 100% packet loss on everything. This has not changed in the course of a few days. I have the same problems using my laptop, with or without the router.

I have no problems with my d/l speed, which is usually anywhere from 1 - 2.5 Mbps. Adelphia caps service at 3Mbps D/l - 128Kbps U/l. Browsing
is still generally OK.

I went to dsl reports and ran some tests. In couple of tests the results for upload speed did not even show up, and the tests where it
showed up at all indicated almost negligible u/l speed, like around 4 or 5 kbps at best.

Adelphia wasn't any help, although they did spend a lot of time on it. They were unable to ping my computer or do a tracert - without the
router and/or Windows firewall protection. They were able to ping the modem but that's as far as they could get.

I recently installed the SP from the automatic upgrade, and thinking that this might be part of the problem, I rolled back the computers to
one of the good ole' days, but this didn't help.

Here is a brief rundown of my equipment.

Custom Built

Athlon XP 1600
512 MB RAM
Soyo Dragon + MoBo
Motorola 3100 Surfboard Cable Modem
Belkin 4 port gateway/router

Windows XP Professional

I get the same results when using my Toshiba Satellite laptop, on or off my network. Laptop also uses XP Professional.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I's surely appreciate it.

Thanks.
