I have tried the 41.09, 40.72, 40.71, and the 29.XX nvidia drivers for windows XP. But none of them work. I can't get any games to work. Last night GTA3 kept locking up on me, even after a reboot it wouldn't run for more than 5 minutes. So I decided to download some other drviers to test them out. But none of them work. And yes i did unistall the old drivers first:rolleyes: I just don't get why none of the nvidia drivers work for my nvidia card! I have a Gainward Geforce 2 ti 450. Should i use gainwards drivers instead?

I had the same problem as you did except on a different video card. All games would lock up after 10 minutes. I tried all the drivers available , no worked. So I tried Glsetup , Glsetup detect my card and installed the correct Gl drivers for my card and I have had no problems since.
You can get Gldrivers from www.glsetup.com
Are you sure it's the card to blame ?

Well what esle could it be?
The card works great with the drivers it came with but they are old drivers. Also about 3 months ago i could get the card to work flawlesly with any det drivers, up to the 40.XX versions. but now none of them work.

Hows the cooling of the video card?
If the GPU gets too hot, it will lock up.

I don't know the cooling on the vid card but my CPU is 44°C at full load and case is about 38°C(I think that is what the case is at) But i don't have a temp sensor on the vid card GPU.

Did you uninstall the previous drivers from the card you managed to burn up? Might want to look into Detonator Destroyer to get rid of the older Detonator's, as they did a horrible job of removing themselves from some systems - causing conflicts. If you still had drivers (even partially uninstalled if they weren't uninstalled all the way), you could be experiencing what your experiencing. That's about the only bad thing with nVIDIA's drivers, their older Detonator's left "residue" after uninstalling them.
