It gets the PR rating correct (~1000), but the rest of it..... ???

I did restart after installing and the system clock seems OK... just a sec, I'll do a quick reeboot...

Built-in benchmark cheating! I love it!
Nox if only my winchip would do that... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Maybe something is installed incorrectly.

Still the same after a reboot!!
I'll try re-installing Sandra (but that might cripple my supercomputer http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif - who says Intel CPUs are overpriced.... I got 18GFLOPS from a cel600 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif)
Back in a sec!
Well, that's done it.... I'm only getting 17.7GFLOPS now http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
BTW: memory benches are normal for a VIA chipset running at 95MHz FSB (i.e. slow ~ 200MB/s) and the graph bit is correct.

Are you playing Half Life? and if yes, are you using the speed cheat?
Read this: http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/a_speed_cheat/

Does it run that fast? Try 3DMark2000 (when you boss isn't around http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif and see what the CPU benchmark is like. Maybe your CPU has the key to cheap super computers! You'll be a billionair! Fame, Fortune, prestiege! It's all withing your grasp!

Oh. Also before you do any of that SUBSCRIBE TO THE RC5 TEAM! With your CPU were talking seconds! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Nah. Probably just a bug in the program. sorry http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

That computer's cracking away right now http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Though I seem to be going backwards in the rating list http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
I can't really run a 3D bench 'cos I've only got a 4MB ATI XPert @ Play... the poor little thing would go into meltdown http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif UR right - more than likely a bug.... still freaky, though!!
If I can be bothered, I'll send the pix to SiSoft and see what they make if it!

All this is is the timing in your system has been fooled to think it is running faster than it is. I saw a story on Ars about this. You can fool the benchmarks into displaying any number. It works the same way that the Half Life (TFC) cheat does. That is what is wrong with your system. I am not sure if it damages anything or if there is any reason to turn it back to normal though. I am pretty sure this tweak has to be done on purpose. I have never heard of this tweak showing up in afresh install.

Who needs an expensive "Beowolf Cluster" when you can build your very own cheap Celeron based "Krusty Kluster!"

There is a way to cheat Benchmarks....
In Januaray A bunch of hackers made sumthing called a speed hack..
This was meant for cheating in Half-Life Multiplayer Games as TFC CS etc.
when the speed hack is ENABLED and you set it too 256x Faster your benchmarks will be very low. I did this and my !Ghz athlon was suddenly 15Mhz
so I set it to slower by 256x I ran the benchmark.
256Ghz
sisoft benchmarks were also acting strange.
/also I DID use the cheat in multiplayer when i was about too die. but im glad they fixed that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif\
anyways the benchmarks need to be fixed for this type of cheating becuase you can get for example...
Lets say you got a 1Ghz P3 and you get the Speed hack and set it too Slow 1.4x
CPUID 3 will detect that the CPU is running at 1.4Ghz which it is not.
or if you have an athlon 1Ghz and you set the speed hack to slow 4x it will say i have a 4Ghz CPU also the FSB are at 800Mhz I have screenshots ill upload them later if you want.
So if someone says they got a 1Ghz CPU at 1800Mhz or 2Ghz dont believe it off the bat.
make them crack rc5 for a few days (also rc5 Benchmarks with the speed hack running at slow 4x they will say sum scary Key rates! 14.6MK/sec. yet it will not have the performance it will just think its going faster.
