Here is a question for ya....
I am going to upgrade my computer. Should I buy a pentium800 with a 100 mhz bus or with a 133mhz bus. Reason I ask is this. The comp is almost entirely gaming. Now with a 133mhz bus the agp slot goes down to 1/2 or about 66mhz. so I lose my 4x agp? will my graphic suffer by going with 133 bus? what about ram? should I get 133 ram? do i need 133 with 133 processors? or do I need 100 with 100mhz processors?????????

The 800/133 is faster due to the faster FSB, but the 800/100 is easier to overclock.

You won't lose AGP4X by getting a 133MHz FSB CPU.

You can use PC100 RAM with a 133MHZ FSB CPU. You just need a motherboard that allows you to set the memory speed 33MHz down from the FSB. The VIA chipset mobos allow you to do this. I don't know about the others though. Just be aware that your memory performance won't be as high if you do this.

Get PC133 RAM. It is backward compatible with PC100 systems, it is faster in PC133 systems, and it doesn't cost more.

If you don't want to overclock and your motherboard 'officially' supports 133MHz FSBs, then go for the 133MHz flavour.

'PC133' RAM only means that it is rated for up to 133MHz operation... not that it has to run @ that speed http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Even if you do get the 100MHz version, if you're buying RAM, you might as well get PC133 - it doesn't cost much more (in some situations, it can even be cheaper!) and it'll be OK for an upgrade later.
