wtf is up w/ my comp ?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok every once in a while the screen will just go black and every other thing shuts off exept for the tower (the speakers, the mouse, keyboard, that stuff is lost) this has been happeneding more an dmore often now. no viruses found. any suggestions? if it helps i just put in linux dual boot.

Sounds like CPU or some other main component failure due to heat. Try adding a case fan to the tower, or to test this theory, open the case and let a small table fan blow into the case and see if the failure time is prolonged or just goes away.

ok i opened the case side and the temp dropped to bought on average 82 F. no blackouts yet, but why would the comp go at only 90 F? that seems low to be overheating a pentium II. maybe its time for a new one eh? its only a 400. heck its time for a whole new computer. any suggestions? i know i want a radeon all in wonder since i love the AIW 128 so much. god my system sucks right now here the specs:
aopen mobo ax6bc (only udma 33)
pentium II 400
64mb ram
AIW 128
sb live
winmodem
and the only good things are (or decent i should say)
maxtor 15gb 7200 rpm
aopen 1640pro dvd
tdk velocd 12-10-32
and thats it
any suggestions?

Are you sure it is degrees F and not C? 82 degrees F seems very low--barely above room temp.
re new comp: Use the user reviews at this site to get the latest on good stuff, then go to pricewatch.com for best prices (other "best price" sites also exist). To save big $$, stay a notch below the fastest cpus.

yes im positive it is F ok! i know that seems very low but i have had this pentium II for 1 year now and i usually leave iton 24/7. i think im gonna go w/ a t-bird 1.33 w/ the epox 8kta3 mobo w/ the radeon of course and sblive platinum, keeping my exiting drives( exept if i have the money a new hdd) of course now ill need a new case and that means even better cooling, god now i need cooling suggestions, water? new speakers too, my labtec eggs are ****!
please continue w/ suggestions
