I just acquired an old 250 UPS. Is it ok to plug it into a surge protector? I know it is not wise to plug a surge protector into it, but what about vice versa?

I would think it would be ok to plug on into a surge protector. All the protector does is prevent excess current on the line. A UPS can straighten out the current, and with a surge protector it would just have less excess current to condition, right?
