Check and see if something else is using your connection. Do a ctrl-alt-delete and shut down any instances of RNAAP (sp?). Run msconfig and remove any items that may be using your communications ports. If none of that works, resinstall DUN. You will need your Win9x cd for this.

Welcome to the club.
Another thing to try is updating the
driver on your modem. Helped me a lot.

Nobody knows what RNaapp stands for.
This is what I found
What is Rnaapp.exe? Why does it lock up?
If you use the Dial-Up Network of Windows 95, you might have experienced the following:
The computer locks up.
When you press Ctrl-Alt-Del, you can see Rnaapp.exe in the task list.
When you kill it in the task list, everything is OK again.
You might have wondered what in the world Rnaapp.exe is, as you did not start it yourself. RNAAPP means Remote Network Access Application, and is part of the Dial-Up Network. Why does it lock up? Nobody knows, at least nobody wants to tell. Fortunately, there is a procedure that might solve the problem for you.
Download the ISDN Acellerator Pack 1.1 from Microsoft. Don't worry about the name, you can install it if you are using a modem or ISDN hardware without drivers for it. Simply ignore the ISDN-only files it installs. The point is that it includes updates to many components of Dial-Up Networking, including Rnaapp.exe. For many customers, this fixed the problem. An extra incentive, is that the "new" Dial-Up Networking has more features, too. For example, it includes the Dial-Up server from the Plus! pack and you can switch off the annoying confirmation window when starting a dial-up connection
