Are these any good? Any you'd recommend?

I prefer real nics to usb ethernet adapters. remember that usb is limited to 12mbps.

For a tech, usb ethernet adapters are great since you don't have to open the case. I use a Linksys one at work.

Well, USB 1 has that limit anyways. I assume there'd be a USB 2 adapter available?

Not that I'd make use of that speed anyways. It's just that here's what I foresee for my 3 PCI slots in the coming months (no AGP).

1) SCSI host adapter
2) Video Card
3) Sound Card

(not necessarily in that order)

I may get some of these for Christmas or my upcoming birthday. So I'm not spending money that could be invested in a new system. I will do that someday, just not yet.

Anyways I figure if I do want to stay connected then this is how. I'm just wondering if these devices are reliable or problematic.

usb has been kinda flaky for me, especially if there are lot of other usb devices on the system.

only 3 pci? ****.
