Ok, for Win98SE, where on the comp does windows store the old backup regestries?

And in Dos (whatever ver comes with win98, though im pretty sure it applies with most ver of dos) how do you transfer files, with long file names still intact?

I know how to move them around and whatnot, but not how to keep long file names intact. I know their is a way though.

Thx, their are reasons i need to know, and i will prolly fill you in on them tomorrow, but right now, i really dont know the details.

In Win98SE
The reg backups are kept in the 'SYSBCKUP' sub-folder of Windows. The System.dat, user.dat, system.ini, and win.ini are inside cab files called rb000.cab, rb001.cab and so on.

I don't know of a way to copy files in dos while preserving the Long File Names.

Try Lcopy [http://www.odi.ch/prog/prog.php]. Good luck
