I have Win ME with Microsoft office XP suite installed...apparently my ole32.dll file is corrupted as I can not open any file nor save any file without getting an error message about the ole32.dll file. I've tried repairing the the problem, made sure I had the most up to date ole32.dll (which would not take by the way) Once I loaded the dll file in dos and booted up I get an ole32.dll error so I put back the original. I even went over to crummy M$ site and made sure I had their upgrades for hte office suite which also updated the ole32.dll file as well and then received that error upon restarting the machine. I can do anything else on the pc except open any kind of office file or a word perfect file. Any suggestions?

Do yourself a favor and gather up all OLE32.DLL files on your PC. Check the dates of each one and use the latest one. Zip up the others so that Windows doesn't see them.

If no joy, Repair Office (Help > Detect and Repair) or reinstall from scratch after uninstalling and destroying the Office folder.

You can also use OpenOffice instead:
