Hi when i close down win xp pro i somtimes get a message (virtual memory minimum to low in creasing pagging file)
does this mean i need more ram.

I do not get this message when closing win 98se as i run a duel boot pc with 2 maxtor hdd s.

I have only 256 pc2100 ddr.

it might, but I would do a virus scan first. What do you have your virtual memory (page file) set to? you want to set the max and min sizes to be the same. for you, 384MB (1.5x ram) is a good place to start.

I checked for virus's/trogans and i am ok and up to date with definitions.

I changed to 1.5 times ram and it is ok but i also tried the option for windows xp to manage it and that two works ok as well.
