Hey Guys!
I have a problem with nero burning software, I can only burn cd's but can't perform cd burn Simulation/test both of them are "greyed out" as well as "dvd" and "dd cd" when I first start the program. I tried both nero+ and standard version with the same results.
Any ideas what I have done wrong? Thanks in advance:(

Simulation Burning is a limitation of your hardware, in this case... your CD Burner.

did you try installing the newer version of nero?

Yes, both I tried are the newest versions.
My CD/Rw is "LG - Gcc-4320B" 32x10x40 and 16xDVD combo.
Optic-pro you are right, I just tried my older cd/rw and I can simulate on that one. Would you have any idea how to correct that on my new cd-drive? or since it is hardware limitation I just have to live with that?

Just check whether you have chosen the recorder as yours in "Choose Recorder" Option in Nero. It shouldn't be the Image Recorder.

I have only found the Simulation and other options greyed only when your are makin image files(in this case you choose Image Recorder..right).

Also try to check whether Buffer underrun error protection under Choose Recorder is checked or not. If it is try removing the check mark and see if it works.

That worked on my yamaha drive, its an 8x8x24x.When I had contacted yamaha with the same problem almost 2 years back they said inorder to use that simulation/avilable speeds/stuff and other options you need to uncheck this option.

Check that out.:t

or maybe as Optic pro says its just your hardware limitation..:(

you can check if there is a firmware update for the drive, but that feature is definitely based on what drive you have. I don't use simulations anyway. cds are so cheap that I don't really mind the occasional failure.

Thanks Guys, I tried everything you told me to but without any lack, I guess it must be the hardware limitation, I went to LG site but they don't have any newer firmware yet, I guess it's still to new for updates.:( Makes me think that newer is not always better but at least faster, my yamaha works but is way slower (4x4x16) ;-)
