For curiosity sake, what Sound Card are you using or your personal favorite.

I really think we should have a sound card/speaker forum. :p

"I really think we should have a sound card/speaker forum. "
Nah wouldnt have enuff posts to it. And most would be sblive driver issues anyhow. I voted sblive for what I have, but after all its evil- its by far not my fav.

You shoulda made 2 votes, 1 for what you own, and another for your favorite. What was your favorite?
My Sound Blaster Live! Value, was great, but now I have a Fortissimo 2 ,which kicks a##! The AWE64 was the peak of the SoundBlaster Family in my opinion, it paved the way for EAX with its' Hardware "3D Envirmental Effects" ability. :t

I have an Audigy OEM, but I also like:

Phillips Accoustic Edge

Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

Nforce 1 and 2 integrated audio :)

Phillips Accoustic Edge

Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

I've looked at both. Def wanting to ditch this one when I can. But for now its a thing I put off. The phillips looks good by the few reviews I saw. But this is new turf to them and am skeptical just yet of long term driver support. The Turtle beach, I hear lots of good stuff about. Kinda leaning that way I think.

I'm still using my Turtle Beach aureal based card in my P3 750. For my XP 1600+ I'm using the onboard sound. I might get the Santa Cruz, or the Hercules Digifire or Fortissimo III or earlier Hercules models.

Over All AWE-64 Gold ISA is the best card around

i have 1 Gold, and 2 OEMs

I would have still be Using them IF THE **** NEW MOBOS had an ISA slot for me to use it :(

:t

so you can say i was Forced to move on to the PCI crappy sound cards )-|

Woulda been nice if newer mobo's had at least 1 or 2 ISA slots, I loved my old AWE64, and ISA 56k modems kicked PCI modem's asses
Sux newer mobo's don't have an ISA slot or two. :(

wow, soundblaster really took the lead, I guess they the primaty sound company out there, but in my opinion their only two good cards where the Awe64, and the Live! series, the Audigy when i TRIED it was good sounding but poor compatability, ans soundblaster's tech support sux too.

C'mon people, divirsify! Break of from Creative, and be original :p , Creative gets the most supporters and the most complaints, I know what creative says, goes.... I dunno, I was only impressed with their earlier products like their Awe64, and Live! Audigy wasn't worth the $

Why couldn't mobo company's have kept at least one ISA slot in all mobo's? I like the Creative AWE series of sound cards.. A little off topic but ISA modem where great too.

Turtle Beach has been very good to me. Toes in the sand with drink in my hand!

I voted for the Live because that's what I have, and didn't know you could do multiple picks.

I really like the nforce DSP but you can't get that as a standalone solution and I can't afford a new mobo right now. For standalone I want to try the Acoustic Edge, or maybe something on the new Via Envy chipset.

I think Creative's dominance in the vote is because there are a LOT of them out there.

How does the Sound Blaster Live! win? It sucks for gaming. It doesn't even have full EAX support. sounds like **** on Games like Halo and Call of Duty.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS and it is incredibly realistic. I love it. If you don't have an Audigy 2, you're running a sound system that is second rate. Surround Sound is very believeable and accurate.
