And most would be sblive driver issues anyhow. I voted sblive for what I have, but after all its evil- its by far not my fav. KraZy_SkitZy 12-03-2002, 09:37 PM You shoulda made 2 votes, 1 for what you own, and another for your favorite. What was your favorite? My Sound Blaster Live! Value, was great, but now I have a Fortissimo 2 ,which kicks a##! The AWE64 was the peak of the SoundBlaster Family in my opinion, it paved the way for EAX with its' Hardware "3D Envirmental Effects" ability. :t BlackTruckRyder 12-03-2002, 09:52 PM I have the PCI 512.:t gibsinep 12-03-2002, 10:12 PM I like my Turtle beach card so that got my vote. Bizkitkid2001 12-03-2002, 10:17 PM IWILL C-Media:t This is really really good for onboard sound. Gots the 6 channel surroung sound support. I can also go and get the Digital Fiber Optics pack too if I wanted but don't know where to buy the adapter:( Giblet Plus! 12-03-2002, 11:01 PM I have an Audigy OEM, but I also like: Phillips Accoustic Edge Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Nforce 1 and 2 integrated audio :) $1500-P4 gamer 12-04-2002, 12:13 AM Phillips Accoustic Edge Turtle Beach Santa Cruz I've looked at both. Def wanting to ditch this one when I can. But for now its a thing I put off. The phillips looks good by the few reviews I saw. But this is new turf to them and am skeptical just yet of long term driver support. The Turtle beach, I hear lots of good stuff about. Kinda leaning that way I think. "You shoulda made 2 votes, 1 for what you own, and another for your favorite. What was your favorite?" Cant vote twice on these ;) It wont let you. Fav. not sure yet. Last ones before this'en were older tech. so no comparison. Other than they worked under all cercumstances. Ahhh the days of DOS.:D Still searching for the perfect sound card WITH 5.1 digital and analouge.:( KraZy_SkitZy 12-04-2002, 09:19 AM Originally posted by $1500-P4 gamer \ "You shoulda made 2 votes, 1 for what you own, and another for your favorite. For my XP 1600+ I'm using the onboard sound. I might get the Santa Cruz, or the Hercules Digifire or Fortissimo III or earlier Hercules models. Bigjakkstaffa 12-04-2002, 11:27 AM SB PCI 512 and PCI 64 in the second oldie machine --Jakk:t KraZy_SkitZy 12-04-2002, 07:03 PM It seems SoundBlaster is either everyone's favorite or just the current sound card, yuk! Com e on people, where's the love for Hercules? or Aureal? come on, SoundBlaster... gibsinep 12-04-2002, 07:39 PM It is only winning by one. KraZy_SkitZy 12-05-2002, 12:36 PM Can't believe there aren't any Hercules fans besides me... :( AllGamer 12-05-2002, 01:46 PM Audigy all the way :D :t KraZy_SkitZy 12-08-2002, 11:24 AM It seems the LIVE! series was the peak for soundblaster. :t krusad3r 12-08-2002, 05:46 PM Im also a hercules fan! :D My system has the Game Theater XP 6.1 :) jcsston 12-09-2002, 04:39 PM SoundBlaster AWE64 ISA, works with all those great old games. AllGamer 12-09-2002, 04:47 PM Originally posted by jcsston SoundBlaster AWE64 ISA, works with all those great old games. Over All AWE-64 Gold ISA is the best card around i have 1 Gold, and 2 OEMs I would have still be Using them IF THE **** NEW MOBOS had an ISA slot for me to use it :( :t so you can say i was Forced to move on to the PCI crappy sound cards )-| KraZy_SkitZy 12-09-2002, 07:33 PM Woulda been nice if newer mobo's had at least 1 or 2 ISA slots, I loved my old AWE64, and ISA 56k modems kicked PCI modem's asses Sux newer mobo's don't have an ISA slot or two. :( extreme_gamer 12-09-2002, 07:38 PM i have had my good experiences with the sound blaster live sound card, i still have it, and would prefer to go audigy 2:D gibsinep 12-09-2002, 07:49 PM ISA? bah I am glad those days are done. ;) Gripsz 12-09-2002, 08:45 PM sound blaster 8 bit Gripsz 12-09-2002, 08:51 PM excuse me, pro audio spectrum! KraZy_SkitZy 12-11-2002, 09:25 AM wow, soundblaster really took the lead, I guess they the primaty sound company out there, but in my opinion their only two good cards where the Awe64, and the Live! series, the Audigy when i TRIED it was good sounding but poor compatability, ans soundblaster's tech support sux too. Logan[TeamX] 12-11-2002, 11:54 AM SiS Onboard sound... not bad, not bad at all! KraZy_SkitZy 12-11-2002, 09:09 PM Yuck onboard! gibsinep 12-11-2002, 09:27 PM KraZy_SkitZy- I hear that. ;) challenger 12-11-2002, 10:00 PM Live all the way! Wow, first post in forever. Break of from Creative, and be original :p , Creative gets the most supporters and the most complaints, I know what creative says, goes.... I dunno, I was only impressed with their earlier products like their Awe64, and Live! Audigy wasn't worth the $ NJEnviroguy 12-16-2002, 10:13 PM Voted other even though I have c-media onboard Goin to pick up a terratec in the next couple weeks. KraZy_SkitZy 05-08-2003, 03:21 PM Why couldn't mobo company's have kept at least one ISA slot in all mobo's? I like the Creative AWE series of sound cards.. A little off topic but ISA modem where great too. Excreter 05-08-2003, 07:24 PM Turtle Beach has been very good to me. Toes in the sand with drink in my hand! Rugor 05-09-2003, 12:21 AM I voted for the Live because that's what I have, and didn't know you could do multiple picks. I really like the nforce DSP but you can't get that as a standalone solution and I can't afford a new mobo right now. For standalone I want to try the Acoustic Edge, or maybe something on the new Via Envy chipset. I think Creative's dominance in the vote is because there are a LOT of them out there. Bigjakkstaffa 05-09-2003, 06:44 AM 1)Soundstorm(Nf2 onboard) 2)Sblaster Live! 5.1 (a friends got one it its good) 3)Soundblaster PCI512 4)SOundblaster PCI64(cheap no frills, does the trick) --Jakk:t KraZy_SkitZy 02-09-2004, 09:53 PM This seems lieka good thread/poll to bump! :t My Fortissimo 2 is still standing strong and sounding great paired with my Logitech Z-680's :t MadPistol 02-10-2004, 12:55 AM How does the Sound Blaster Live! win? It sucks for gaming. It doesn't even have full EAX support. sounds like **** on Games like Halo and Call of Duty. I have an Audigy 2 ZS and it is incredibly realistic. I love it. If you don't have an Audigy 2, you're running a sound system that is second rate. Surround Sound is very believeable and accurate. tasty danish 02-10-2004, 01:03 AM i hate to be so mainstream, but the audigy 2 zs is pretty friggin sweet. very good surround Sparky Lang 02-10-2004, 01:59 PM A MadDog 5.1 I got for $10 after rebate!
