I got a new tigerdirect catalog yesterday and noticed a new item called a "ThumbDrive"

It is a flash memory card with a USB plug attached, How Novel !

A 8mb is $45 so it anin't too cheap,, Yet, but it is convienint.

And, for those who need something similar this will work..

Use the CF or SM card reader which is seen as another HD to transfer data. Though not as tiny as a ThumbDrive the serial versions of these will work with Win NT

The ThumbDrives got up to 256mb at present, not too spacious but less obvious than a Buslink..

I plan to use my SM Serial Card reader to transfer data from my T-1 connection at work to my home pewter http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Dr
Saw something similar in a Dell ad, key fob with usb plug and 8m flash.
Hadn't thought if using my 340m IBM microdrive, and sandisk reader, good idea though.

Do you know if these require a driver? Network admin at work gets twitchy when people add software to "HIS" computers.

Dell 'said' no driver required, look promising.

Does your business system use WinNT

Remember that NT does NOT support USB

98/ME/2000 does
