First of all I'd like to thank Sharder for providing the file in the first place and for keeping up with the constant demand for it here on the board. Since I haven't yet figured out how to unsubscribe to that thread I decided to post the file on the web for all the grab. You can find it at http://stevesarlls.homestead.com/200ways.html
Appologies for the bare nature of that page. I just threw it together rather quicly.

Thanks Steve for posting that on a web-site! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I haven't been able to do much for the last couple days due to a corrupted Registry. (I really did a boo-boo! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif ) I wasn't able to find a simple fix, so I just spent around 10.5 hrs. editing the Registry. I estimate I edited aprox. 2,000 items and while I still have a couple of bugs, I was able to get back on line today.

P.S. NEVER burn your Emergency Recovery Backup to CD in ISO 9660, mode 1 format! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif After an FDisk and Format, then installing, YOU GOT PROBLEMS in your Registry!!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
At least my Registry was only a little over 10MB! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Yup Doc!
Scanreg /fix would (and still does) freeze up right after it starts on the System.dat file and Scanreg /restore came up the same as I have. (I'm not sure how it became corrupted, but it did. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif )
The problem is, the kids computer was down waiting for a replacement monitor for the replacement monitor that came in and went out in a week. And with mine messed up, I had no access to the net for help.
Anyway, when I burned in ISO 9600, mode 1, I didn't allow long file names. So depending on the program, some were just 8+3 character file names, some were duplicate 8+3 and long, some were long, and some of the 8+3 also doubled up in the Registry. What a mess!!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
Like I said, I've fixed most of the problem, but scanreg /fix still freezes and my Registry is about 350Kb lighter. But the system is up and running and the easier ones are done! The Harder (love that word) ones I'll work on when I'm in the mood.
I kinda wish W98 had a program like W95's LFNB and that I could force it in the Registry. (I'd still have the duplicate problem to deal with though.)

Steve,
Just FYI
the URL that you used on that page you made linking to Sysopt is incorrect.
use
www.sysopt.com (http://www.sysopt.com)
not
sysopt.EARTHWEB.com as SysOpt is no longer hosted on Earthweb's servers. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
