This press release brought to you by Team X Racing:
"In a major move today, Team X Racing skillfully acquired a Pentium 4 Willamette-core DELL OptiPlex machine with 512MB of RAM. When the founder, Logan, was asked what the machine will be used for, he replied: 'Simple. SETI workunits. Lots of them'".
Hehehe
Machine switch day today at the office. My immediate boss just got a P4 - 2.66GHz machine, and he gave me his P4 1.6GHz box as a result :) Expect to see me (hopefully) regain my spot from Sterling_Aug! I'm comin for ya!!!!!!!
Have a great weekend guys!

Nice shoehorning. Not much room left over in there. 270HP from a 289 is pretty good too. :D

It's a nice engine job, but the interior has a LONG way to go. The engine will be retaining the exhaust manifolds (after a little research) but the carb will be upgraded this spring with any luck. It'll be a lot of work over the next few months to get it show-ready. I plan on entering it in a few local cruise nights. The worst part about cruises? Nobody goes anywhere! They ought to call it "Stare and gawk at my ride" night. :/
What makes for some nice noises is when everyone leaves and goes to the coffee shops afterwards. Then you hear some of the sweetest music ever made :r
As for my part, I'll be playing a lead role with "rubber peeling out against asphalt" in D-minor :) Expect a heavy bass tone with some nice high peaks :r

LOL!
I've only had one speeding ticket in my life, and I was 30 KPH over the limit. I deserved that one...
The nice thing about this truck is that it's a total "sleeper", no-one will know until it takes off :)
Once I clean up the paint and enter my first few cruise nights, my cover will be blown :( , but until then... :D
Logan
PS - I guess I don't have the horsepower yet to challenge the might of Sterling_Aug. Well done sir!

My worst speeding ticket was when I was driving a Ford Pinto. Got caught on the freeway about 100 miles west of home. Police said I was going about 95 MPH up the slight hill and was over his 120MPH radar gun limit going down the other side. He wrote the ticket for 95 in a 55 zone. This was a long time ago. The car had a basically stock 4-cyl engine w/ a header & Crower racing cam. It was a pretty fast little car. Now I drive a Jeep Wrangler that has a top end of about 65. Any faster than that, it gets a little squirrely. It's a lot more fun to drive at about 3-10 MPH on the back trails. :D

120mph wow, what were you thinking?

I've never been busted for that fast, but I had my crazy souped-up wagon (you can see it in one of the pics, on the side) up past 120MPH. I know it was running that fast, because the Beretta GTZ next to me running the same engine (3.1L V6) bounced off his governor at 105MPH, and I pulled away from him hard :r
Good ole Chev, they never governed their wagons until 91-92. I cut it at about 125 or so because it started to get a little twitchy :)

The worst part of it was that the Pinto didn't have seatbelts either (not that they would have done any good at that speed anyway).
Amazing what a kid will do with their first car.
