I am working with an old P166 of a neighbor. Video card is 2 mb S3 Trio V64+ and an analog monitor. If the screen display on boot up is just the correct size, the desktop is almost half the screen. When the apps screen is enlarged to the max using monitor controls (screen size is just right), the POST and the bootup screen is then too large when re-booted. Is this a problem on monitor, video card, or driver? Win 95 & screen res is set to 16bit (I can't exactly remember, the one after 256 colors).:(

That is a small problem you should live with. On my 98 comp, it boots at 700x400 then switches to 800x600 when Windows loads. Just set it to look correct in windows.

But why was that? I tried an old ISA card at 256 colors and both bootup and windows screen res are the same. Here in this S3 video card, even at 256 the display at bootup and windows are of different size.

Seem I solved it. It's the refresh rate which I set to Adapter default.:)
