Super Nintendo was probably the most stable console... Never had a problem with that one. $1500-P4 gamer 11-30-2002, 03:05 PM I have to agree. I think me SNES never frooze!:D The NES though, arghhh that thing was the biggest pain. Even after cleaning it just killed some cartridges. Wouldnt read unless you open and closed or jammed another one on top. Junk.... gibsinep 11-30-2002, 03:32 PM I have had my ps2 freeze also. After about 10 hours though. I have had it it on longer since. I have froze every system I have ever had except for the SNES and the origional Sega, Origional nintendo, PS1,N64, Sega saturn, and Ps2 have all froze on me. I guess its my nature touch. :D OpK Chowdy 11-30-2002, 04:05 PM my gamecube froze after 14 hours of straight play :t RamonGTP 11-30-2002, 05:43 PM Originally posted by $1500-P4 gamer I have to agree. It became second nature to blow into the cartridge before putting the game in. Then there was all those creative ways of actually putting in the cartridge to get it to work. gibsinep 11-30-2002, 09:53 PM **** dust, you think in the world we live in they could get rid of it. :p ;) JuNacy 11-30-2002, 11:06 PM I've had my PS2 freeze on me a few times. It's happened at least once with every console that I've owned. No biggie..... Bizkitkid2001 12-01-2002, 12:37 AM I have only had my XBOX freeze on me once and that was after a 13 hour system link tournament with my friends over at the community center. And I was just about to take out his banshee! extreme_gamer 12-01-2002, 01:00 AM my ps2 freezes at every point where i NEED to save, or in the middle of where it is showing a video part, or i bump into a car, like in grand theft auto: vice city it just bugs me if i've done a lot, and it freezes, and i cant save!!!! my computer is worse though:rolleyes: Someone Stupid 12-01-2002, 04:14 AM If your PS2 freezes that much, sounds like something is going to hell in it. Either that or you only "need" to save every 20 hours straight of gameplay. :) Good old NES... it was a picky little ******* when it came to staying down. As for the SNES, I never had it crash once as well, and I used to play the hell out of it, though admittedly, components didn't generate much heat back then. :) My 25mhz 486DX2 was brand new at the time IIRC. :) extreme_gamer 12-01-2002, 12:47 PM well i dont play 20 hours straight, let alone 3 hours at most... Someone Stupid 12-01-2002, 03:28 PM I'd say it's PS-2 modding time if that's happening (and it's past warranty). A little dremmelling action, a Sunon fan or two (or if you don't mind the sound of hurricane, a Delta). Sounds like it's just overheating and one of th components in there has gotten sensitive to it. If it's still under warranty, I'd send it back to get it fixed/replaced - if you can go without it for a month that is, if not, well either put up with the crashes or get experimental with it. :) extreme_gamer 12-01-2002, 07:18 PM oh i'm pretty sure it's still under warranty... only had it for less than 3 months.... Someone Stupid 12-01-2002, 08:34 PM Send it back, you got a bad one RamonGTP 12-02-2002, 02:41 AM Originally posted by extreme_gamer oh i'm pretty sure it's still under warranty... only had it for less than 3 months.... Better send it back quick... If memory serves me correctly, Sony only slapped a 90-day warranty on the PS2. SysOpt.com
