Need Help with a Pen 4

Hi all, new here..I'm building a system with a d845pt mobo, 1.6 gig pent 4 processor..It boots up fine but about one minute after it boots up, it shut completely down..just off..poof *sigh*
Any help PLEASE!

I've checked the video card, cd, floppy and hard drive, all the stuff is brand new..no bios error beeps either..

Sounds like possible thermal issues.

Is the inside of your case pretty clean, or are there drive cables everywhere?

Do you have case fans?

Did you take off the protective layer of silver stuff on the thermal interface pad on the heatsink?

It could also be a power supply issue.

Power = 350, should be fine
Case is brand new..everything new..
I'll check on the protective thingy.

Do you remember taking it off when you installed your heatsink?

If you didn't take it off, your cpu could be getting auto-shut down as it heats up.

I just checked it and found out that the goofy way they have the heat sink attached failed in my case *I'm an AMD guy* and it seperated..so it was heating up to fast and shutting down...Thanks a bunch G...
