Wow, expensive stuff when you buy it at compusa, or office depot. I'm talking about the shiny nice stuff.10 bucks for 15 sheets..WHEW! Can anyone direct me to a cheaper place to buy the stuff, online or otherwise? Or, does anyone use an alternative shiny paper labeled for different use, as a photo paper? Any ideas or suggestions welcome...Thanks

We are checking out HP printers. The research indicates HP (and others) make little if any profit on their printers. However, the ink and paper they require for warranty support more than makes up for that!

I'm looking for info & alternatives too!

Sam's Club has a nice photo paper that I use for photo printing that costs Approx $14for 50 sheets. It's made by Royal and come in a yellow box. I've used about 5 boxes and am very satisfied with it. For general printing I use Xerox image series 24# bond. It's designed for use in our color copiers and is a very slick very bright white paper. I don't know the price. I also would recommend Hamermill 24# color laser copier paper. It is about the same quality as Xerox.

I got some Canon high resolution paper at a local place, $10 for 100 sheets, plus a cleaner sheet in every pack.

Do a search for 'paper' or 'glossy paper' at BuyComp. www.buy.com/comp/default.asp (http://www.buy.com/comp/default.asp)

or find a local printer and work as deal with him......im a printer by trade and my cost for paper for my printer is nowhere near the prices you guys are putting up....or go directly to a larger paper company....ex pedex....mac....etc...
