i like directron, personally. I havent ordered from them, but I have emailed and talked with their sales staff. I was REALLY close to ordering one of those cases myself. I really like the option for the 92mm fan in the rear.

Hey everyone. I hope I'm posting this in the appropriate place...
I fell in love with Hansan's Explorer III case when I first saw it at Directron.com yesterday. Not only does it look very nice, but it was highly reviewed in the online reviews I found and it looks sturdy. Today I found a customer review page, and I learned about your misadventures with Mr. Kim back in January, which has caused me a great dilemma.
I REALLY want this case (and will be ordering it from Directron.com, not directly from Hansan), but I'm worried over these business practices I've read about.
Can anyone give me some advice on what would be the best thing to do in this situation? Thanks.

Well, you've seen the thread in question, haven't you? If not, go here:
http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum17/HTML/002146.html
Then decide for yourself if you want to give him any business. Personally I'd just find another case. There are certainly better looking cases availible, as well as better designed. But it's your personal decision not ours.

Also of note, since the whole debacle, actually just over a month ago, I got an email from Chris at Hanson Systems. Completely out of the blue. This is what he sent (obviously I edited the obscenity):
F*** yourself real good.
Sales
I love how it's signed "Sales"...hilarious. I just ignored it, wasn't in the mood to even bother with it. But I still have it in my IN box so I don't forget about our friend chris@hansansystems.com .

After repeated insults towards my fellow SysOpt members, plus repeated forum and email solicitations all across the net, I cetainly would not buy one of his products, regardless of what retailer was handling the purchase transaction.

"I did it... it was me, right or wrong..."
Well, I just wanted to say that I finally decided to purchase that case, and I got it today. I absolutely love it!
But I can't help feeling like I just made a deal with the devil. I went to another forum linked from resellerratings.com and read some pretty idiotic posts from Chris (like all of his posts). Does Hansan Systems necessarily deserve my money? Not really... considering how he acted... but, erggg... I guess my heart (and eyes) won out over my head. I do suppose beauty IS in the eye of the beholder...
Sorry for rambling over this... I just wouldn't want you to think me a twit for buying this thing.
Anyway, has anyone here actually had experience with this case? Even though directpc.com and hardwaremaniac.com gave the Explorer III praising reviews, some posters on a different message board said it at least looked cheaply made and was poor performing. I guess what I wanna know is: will this case stand the test of time?

I say more power to ya.
I know the good ol' boycott is good to bring down companies you dont like, but to the end user, what really matters is that you get what you want, or will use.
Whether hansonsystems dies under the weight of its own unethical business style will happen anyways in the end. You knew you were going to get your case because you got it throught a reseller, and you got the case you wanted. It may feel good to contribute to the demise of a bad company, but will that help your equipment any?
Think about Microsoft versus Linux. Almost everyone uses microsoft products (Windows, Mice, keyboards, etc.) despite not liking Microsoft, and some of thier business stratagies. Why? Because they make some of the best and most comfortable pheriphials, and makes the OS that is perferred by the majority - With all respect to you linux dudes, Windows users are still well in the majority.
Also take Intel Vs. AMD. Intel is the company that stuck serial codes on our CPU's, and locked our multipliers. They also priced thier CPUs at whatever price they saw fit (P3 1Ghz when it first came out was over $500 wasn't it?). Regardless, everyone bought celerons and P3's because nothing matched em.
Ultimately, if you get what you want, thats what matters.
I personally dislike Hansonsystems, the way they conduct business, and just about everything else about them. However, If I really liked one of their products, and it was being resold by a reputable company who got good ratings at www.resellerratings.com, (http://www.resellerratings.com,) and I know Im gunna get my stuff, I wouldnt hesitate to order.
I think Hansonsystem gets the award for lowest rating ever at RR.com, and will hold that for quite a while dontcha think?

Is Hansan(sp?) actually an official company or just a one man show (bad show), do they produce these cases themselves ?.
Just a few questions that sprang to mind,

Seems to me that he's just a reseller for some other company like that colorcases.com link that was posted above. Best to buy from the source at a better price. I mean, would an international corporation have a "John 3:16" link on their homepage!?

Too bad about breaking the embargo.
One more case won't keep them out of the red.
Perhaps they should do like Alfus Gore, adopt John 16:3 , it would be much more accurate in their case http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
