Building my Dream Machine

This is going to be my Monster PC !
- Asus CUV4X-D with 2 PIII 1GHz
- 512MB PC133 crucial SDRAM
- SBLive Gamer
- Asus V7700 GeForce2 64MB DDR
- Adaptec RAID 2100S (32MB onboard) with 2 IBM 36LZX (10krpm, 4MB) in RAID0
- Adaptec 2940UW
- Pioneer DVD 305s (10x40x)
- Yamaha CD-RW 2100s (16x10x40x)

Everything is still in a box... I will probably buid my new roadrunner this Sunday !!! Woohoo !!!

Myself, If I had the money I'd wait and get a dual athlon 1.33, 1GB of DDR, 4 of the new Seagate Cheetah X15 drives (3.9ms access time!) set up in a raid 5 config, GF3, and all the accessories I could get. It'd cost me about as much as a good used car, but still it'd insipre envy in all who beheld it and its benchmarks! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I'd trade for a SB Live! Platinum. I've heard that the retail package comes with great software, as well as the great sound card inside.

I'd recommend the SB platimun, or the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz for sound. I have the santa cruz, and it's cool, and it'll save you some money, but obviously your not into that type of thing, now are you???

Well, I did not get the Platinum because I already have the digital/optical I/O card.

I have just spent 2 1/2 hours installing all the cards/HD/RAM... Software install will be for Sunday.

I am off to bed now (it is 22h30) and I am knackered...
