Bit of an odd un - mandrake boots up all nicely and even lets me logoff :)
ONCE...
I can log off, then back into the old acount, but when i next log out the mouse pointer will freeze and i have to navigate using the k/b to restart the compo and get the mouse back... any ideas??

Hey Jakk, is this a USB mouse? It sounds a lot like the mouse problems that my SUSE 7.3 installation has. You can search suse.com for 'usb mouse install' and see many pages of docs that explain this known problem. From what I understand, the mouse is recognized in the install program, but once the PC reboots, the configuation file isn't transfered corectly. Can you use shift/num-lock to activate the num pad for control? If so, slash astrick(sp?) and minus select which button to click, 5 is click, zero is click-and-hold, decimal is release, and plus is double-click.
