I just bought a JVC camcorder which utilizes the miniDV format and has the IEEE (iLink) jacks.

I also bought the firewire cable. It has a small end that looks very much like a tiny usb connector. This end plugs directly into the camcorder with no prblems.

The other end is a little larger and looks like a larger usb connector. I'm not sure where to plug this end. I have a TV tuner card with coaxial cable ports and a S-video jack on it. IT doesn't have anything that looks like I can plug the firewire into it. What do I need? A better video card? Which would you suggest? (Please, nothing too fancy)

I considered the software DVD Studio 6 by Ulead for software - it was very affordable.

Any suggestions?

You need a firewire port. Sounds like you dont have one. You can get a firewire pci card for $20-$40.
