Controls for Flash - what happens if user does not have plugin?

How is everyone today? I have developed a site with a flash object. however, I am scared that my all of my users may not have a flash compliant browser. Is there anyway to put control statements in to first check their browserer before attempting to load the smf (flash) file. thanks for ANY help offered,

if the user doesn't have the plugin, the flash thing just won't load. I used to use IE and when I didn't have the flash plugin, the first time I visited a flash site IE asked me if I wanted to install the flash plugin. I don't know if that happens in all browsers though.

You can setup your page to detect flash player and divert it to another page/site if flash player is not detected. There are a couple of tutorials getting around on how to do it:

If the user has a later operating system or later version browser the flash player/plugin should be installed by default.

Usually it will automatically download the Flash player.

The best thing to do is mention the following

Users that do not see the animation are missing the flash plu-in
