This is so Annoying...Help

Every time I fresh boot or restart, every thing installs and sets up fine except I have an annoying messgae "Shell_Notify Icon Fail". Where is it coming from and how do I stop it. I am using Win2k, and I think it started when I installed Norton GHOST.

It sounds like you installed a program that is trying to use the shell_notifyicon API to create an icon in your system tray, and an error creating the icon is occurring.

What OS are you running? When did this start happening? What were you doing before this started happening?

jim - you need to finish reading the sentence before slamming in a reply -

Kid - I'd uninstall ghost - and then try to add it back in through the add/remove programs applet in control panel - are you logging in as administrator on that PC - can you? On NT products, some things won't install correctly unless you log in as admin or your personal login has admin rights associated to it.

Thanks Axel, I installed right of of the CD. If I remove and add from the start,run will this possibly eliminate it??
