That answer would also depend on the system specs your running and what you use your computer for.

If the pc is five years old and only has a 166mzh processor, you'd be better of sticking with win95.

Ditto Mr. Jones. That is, unless this 'upgrade' of yours also includes new hardware. Were you to get new hardware I'd *beg* you to ditch 95 (then burn all evidence of its existence...) and get a post NT4.0 flavor Windows. Or 98SE, which I just reinstalled this weekend for my dual boot 98/XP setup.

Personally, I like XP, although I should have invested the extra $40 and got XP Pro instead for its better networking capabilities.

EDIT: I must repent!!! NT based systems are supreme over any flavor of windows 9x. I'm sorry....*ß.Qµix receives a boot to the head*

I think the most 'popular' problem with both win2k and XP is drivers. Micro$oft insists on plug and play configurations. If you already ahve a CD with Win2k go to the i386 folder and run command winnt32/checkupgradeonly to find out which components are going to be a problem. Before you install the new OS make sure you have drivers for those components.

Out of the two I would recommend Windows 2000; this is mainly because I never heard anything good about XP.
