FS2002frame Rate

Can someone help me how to figure out why does the frame rate of my FS2002 become so low when I fly at night and when I approach a highly detail airports, Also especially when I play with the Greatest Airliners The 737 with the FMC or any flight from FS2002 done at night time too. I got a Compaq 5bw160 5000 series, I upgraded My computer memory with a 258 MB it equals to a total of 386mb . Also I replaced my original gamecard with a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 with the latest driver and still drops all the way down to 2-5, it's diffucult to fly, I should be about 13 framerate or higher. I don't have any solution at this moment. Thanks for your time.:confused:

What are the minimun requirements? What OS? What was the framerate before you got the MX 420?

If you're on XP, 386 is a good amount, but not a ton. The MX card may also be a problem. If you give us your system specs along with the minimun and recommended requirements we might be able to help you better.

tenang1964 its your processor. My guesse is that you have about a 750mhz CPU. FS 2002 is a big CPU hog because of the size of the world you are flying in. Try turning down some of the graphics settings. A big help is when you are not flying over water you can turn off the water affects and that helps a lot. The reasone for this is because of the way the game was built. If you are flying through the sahara desert the game is still taking you CPU cycles to make the water affects over in the atlantic ocean even when you can't even see it. To get decent fram rates you will need at least a 1.2ghz CPU.:t

Bizkitkid2001 is right. I have fs2002, and performance improved drastically when I upgraded from my tbird 900 to my athlon xp2000. :)

A good 3dcard helps in flight simulators, but not as much as a fast processor.

Thank for your help. It works well in day time but at night it drops too much 2 to 5 frame rate. I only got 700MHz .I think i need faster processor
